Lieutenant Walter Baxter (2371)

Lieutenant Walter Baxter was a Starfleet officer aboard USS Voyager, under Captain Kathryn Janeway when it became trapped in the Delta Quadrant in 2371.

In early 2371, Baxter reported to sickbay after injuring himself while exercising in Voyager's gymnasium. He had epicondylitis, strained ligament, torn muscle and a hairline fracture, all which were diagnosed by Kes to test her medical knowledge. Baxter was unsure if he would be able to let the EMH perform serious medical procedures, like surgery. Baxter was also highly dismissive of the Doctor, treating him like a hypospray instead of a person. (VOY: "Eye of the Needle")

Later that year, Baxter was exercising so hard in the gymnasium when he realized that the environmental controls were malfunctioning and the temperature dropped to below 10 °C. This was discovered to have happened as a result of Voyager's encounter with a spatial distortion. (VOY: "Twisted")

Captain Janeway thought Baxter would remain on the planet where the 37's lived because she saw him as a risk-taker. (VOY: "The 37's")

Baxter was played by Tom Virtue. He wore a command division red uniform in his first appearance, but was in security and an operations division yellow uniform in his second appearance. His first name was referenced in "The 37's", an episode he did not actually appear in.
