Winrich Kolbe in 1994

Winrich Kolbe is a director, who worked on all four Star Trek spin-off series. An interview from 1994, on the location shooting for "Caretaker", was included in the special feature "On Location with the Kazon" on the Voyager Season 1 DVD.

Kolbe has also directed for several other television series, including CHiPs, Battlestar Galactica (1978), Voyagers!, Millennium, Angel, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and the remake of Twilight Zone (2002).

Former professor of Film and Television at the Savannah College of Art and Design. After March 2007, he resigned and returned to California with his family for health reasons.

A character listed in a piece of background signage in the The Next Generation episode "Up The Long Ladder", Captain Winrich Kolbe, was named for him.
