Wright Flyer
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference.
The Wright Flyer was the first airplane to fly on Earth, in 1903. The plane was built and flown by Orville and Wilbur Wright in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, USA. (ENT: "North Star")
The Flyer is credited with the first successful, controlled, powered, sustained flight involving a heavier-than-air vehicle, using mechanically-unassisted takeoff.
After Jonathan Archer restored a damaged timeline, the Wright Flyer could be seen in the time stream as the timeline realigned itself. (ENT: "Storm Front, Part II")
- A scene featuring this historic airplane is also featured in the opening credits for Star Trek: Enterprise.
