Yanas Tigan was an unjoined Trill living in New Sydney in the 24th century. She was the mother of Janel, Ezri and Norvo.
In 2375, she owned the sixth largest pergium mine in the Sappora system. Yanas did not have a good relationship with her children, especially Ezri, her only daughter. This relationship deteriorated even further when Ezri was joined with the Dax symbiont. With the memories of eight other people, Ezri found it difficult to distinguish herself from the others. When Yanas came to vist her on Trill after being joined, Ezri presented herself to her as Curzon. This convinced Yanas that Ezri should come home, and when she didn't, "things went downhill from there."
Yanas also tried to discourage her youngest son, Norvo, from the arts despite his skills, preferring him to work for the company instead. After it was revealed that her two sons had been involved with the Orion Syndicate, and that Norvo had killed Morica Bilby, Yanas realized she was to blame. (DS9: "Prodigal Daughter")
