The '''ISS ''Enterprise'' (NCC-1701)''' was a [[Constitution class|''Constitution''-class]] [[starship]] of the [[Terran Empire]] [[Starfleet]] in the mid-[[23nd century]].  It's noted to be the first vessel of the Terran Empire to encounter live inhabitants of the [[mirror universe]].  Subsequently, it is also known as the vessel where the fall of the Terran Empire began, as [[Commander]] [[Spock]] was influenced by the [[James T. Kirk (mirror)|mirror counterpart]] of [[James T. Kirk]] convinced him the Empire was illogical, and to gain command of ''Enterprise'' in order to inflict some changes.

===Early Career===
The ISS ''Enterprise'' was constructed before [[Timeline|2267]]. At sometime before 2267, the ''Enterprise'' was under the command of [[Captain]] [[Christopher Pike]].  Pike's tenure as ''Enterprise'''s captain ended when he was [[Assassination|assassinated]] by the ship's then [[first officer]], [[James T. Kirk]].

Under the command of Captain Kirk, The ''Enterprise'' was used to suppress the [[Gorlan]] uprising by destroying the rebels [[Gorlan (planet)|homeworld]], as well as the execution of 5,000 colonist at [[Vega IX]].

===The Halkan Incident===

In [[Timeline|2267]], ''Enterprise'' was in orbit of [[Halkan]] [[Halkan homeworld|homeworld]] during an [[ion storm]].  After the Halkans stated their refusal to allow the Terran Empire to mine the planet for it's [[dilithium]] resources, the order to beam up the away team was given to transporter chief [[Kyle]].  When he allowed the beam to wobble during transport, it was thought to have caused complications of the away team's return.

Unknown at the time, the [[mirror universe]] counterparts of [[James T. Kirk (mirror)|Kirk]], [[Montgomery Scott (mirror)|Montgomery Scott]], [[Uhura (mirror)|Uhura]], and [[Leonard McCoy (mirror)|Leonard McCoy]] were the ones beamed aboard ''Enterprise'' instead of the individuals of this universe.
