== History ==

=== Unity and Victory ===
The Alliance was formed as the historic union of  the [[Klingon]]s and the [[Cardassian]]s, in the face of unprovoked aggression from the [[Terran Empire]]. Following a glorious war, the Alliance conquered the Terran Empire. The ease of the defeat was partially due to a series of reforms by [[Spock]], the leader of the Empire, that left it vulnerable to attack. After its victory, the Alliance liberated the Empire's subjugated species and enslaved the [[Terran]]s. Included in the list of liberated planets was [[Bajor]], the scene of infamous events later in Alliance history.

=== The Rebellion ===
In [[Timeline|2370]], near the Alliance station [[Terok Nor]], a [[United Federation of Planets|Federation]] [[runabout]] from the [[mirror universe]] appeared before an Alliance patrol.  Whilst aboard the station, the runabout's crew, [[Kira Nerys (mirror)]] and [[Julian Bashir (mirror)]], spread their message of hate and incited a rebellion among the Terrans, led by [[Benjamin Sisko]]. ([[CO]])

The Alliance heroically attempted to defeat the [[Terran Rebellion]], but the rebels cowardly eluded justice at almost every turn.  The Rebels set up their criminal operation is the [[Badlands]] in [[Timeline|2371]] from which they proceeded to launch raids against innocent Alliance targets. During this time, the Alliance was able to bring the rebel leader, [[Benjamin Sisko]], to justice. ([[TTLG]])

In [[Timeline|2372]], the Alliance suffered a minor set back when the Rebellion managed to capture Terok Nor.  [[Regent]] [[Worf]] personally led the assault fleet that attempted to recapture the station, but that fleet was defeated thanks to a powerful [[Defiant|new warship]] the rebels had hurriedly constructed. The Alliance suffered a further minor set back during an operation in which Regent Worf attempted to obtain a [[cloaking device]] from the mirror universe. Due to the scheming of three dishonest Ferengi, Regent Worf himself was captured along with the Alliance's flagship by the rebels and taken to Terok Nor in chains. ([[TENC]])

The Alliance is led by a [[Regent]], who delegated authority to various [[Intendant]]s who administrated the individual [[sector]]s of Alliance territory. As of [[Timeline|2372]], the Alliance is ruled by [[Regent]] [[Worf]].
