Asil was a female Vulcan of the 24th century. She was the youngest of Tuvok and T'Pel's four children, sister to Sek and two other brothers. She became an aunt to T'Meni.

Asil was conceived during Tuvok's eleventh pon farr, and was born in the city of T'Paal on Vulcan. (VOY: "Elogium", "Alice", "Unimatrix Zero, Part II") Like her brothers, she benefited as equally from her father's guidance and presence as she did her mother's. (VOY: "Elogium")

Asil underwent her kolinahr at some point prior to 2371. In attendance was Kathryn Janeway, a long time friend of her father. (VOY: "Fury")

Asil had to endure the presumed loss of her father in 2371 when the USS Voyager was presumed destroyed. It wouldn't be until 2374 when she learned of the ship's fate in the Delta Quadrant and that her father was still alive. (VOY: "Message in a Bottle")

Appendices[]

Background information[]

This character was only mentioned in dialogue.

Kenneth Biller had teased a late VOY Season 7 episode that did not end up being developed in which "we may see one of Tuvok's adult daughters" once live communication was established with Earth, "from whom he is somewhat estranged. She's a little rebellious for a Vulcan, and she needs his help solving a mystery." (Star Trek: The Magazine Volume 1, Issue 20, p. 23)

The Star Trek: Voyager Companion (p. 389) suggested that Asil may instead be the Borg Queen's name.

Apocrypha[]

Her mirror universe counterpart (β) was mentioned but did not appear in the novella The Mirror-Scaled Serpent. She served in the household of a prominent official of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. She used her position to gather intelligence to aid the Terran Rebellion. Like the rest of Tuvok's family, she was hidden to protect the secret of Vulcan telepathy, and was considered officially dead, murdered by the Alliance.
