David Wise (1 February 19553 March 2020; age 65) was a writer and script editor for animated television shows.

In 1974, he co-wrote the Star Trek: The Animated Series second season episode "How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth" with Russell Bates. In 2006, Wise did a audio commentary for the same episode, which appeared on The Animated Series DVD boxset.

Wise may be best known for his work on the original Transformers series. He also served as a story editor on the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series for nine seasons. Other animated programs he wrote for include Jem, Batman: The Animated Series, and Wild C.A.T.S: Covert Action Teams. In 2010, he wrote Gallifrey: Forever, a Doctor Who spin-off audio drama for the UK based Big Finish Productions. It was released in 2011.
