Fangs – also known as sharp teeth or canines – were a type of tooth, typically found in the top corners of the mouth's upper jaw.

In Humans, incisor teeth were believed to have been fangs at one point. In 2266, Doctor Robert Crater compared Humans' retention of incisors and a chameleon's ability to change color for camouflage to the M-113 creature's ability to change forms, saying it was a survival mechanism. (TOS: "The Man Trap")

While visiting the planet Neural in 2268, James T. Kirk was attacked by a Mugato, who bit Kirk. When Kirk was thereafter attended by Doctor Leonard McCoy, Kirk ordered him to "Contact ship. Took full poison. Fangs." (TOS: "A Private Little War")

Spock once clarified to Dr. McCoy, who had just heard of Spock's pet sehlat I-Chaya being referred to as a teddy bear, that "on Vulcan the teddy bears are alive, and they have six-inch fangs." (TOS: "Journey to Babel")

When explaining to Kes the description of the two-tailed talchoks of Rinax, Neelix described them as "Nasty little vermin. Sharp claws, dripping fangs. Ugh." (VOY: "Jetrel")

Following the consumption of the "beast" they hunted for lunch, Kor and Jadzia Dax embellished the story about the creature, describing it as having "fangs like daggers." (DS9: "The Sword of Kahless")

Captain Benjamin Sisko referred to Klingon teeth as "fangs," and mentioned how he missed them after having a Klingon disguise he had worn removed from him. Odo disagreed, saying that he, for one, wouldn't miss the fangs at all. (DS9: "Apocalypse Rising")

When the restrained Kira Nerys verbally confronted her deranged captor, Silaran Prin, he described her actions back to her as, "It bares its tiny fangs, hoping for a chance to strike, to sink its teeth deep into the flesh of its tormentor. But that chance will never come." (DS9: "The Darkness and the Light")

In describing her ineptness with data algorithms, Tal Celes told Captain Kathryn Janeway that "To me [...] it's a monster with, [...] fangs and claws. In my nightmares, I am chased by algorithms. My brain just wasn't built to understand this." (VOY: "Good Shepherd")

The moopsy had large fangs on both its upper and lower jaw. This was typically concealed by its mouth until it prepared to drink prey's bones, at which point its mouth stretched considerably, revealing the entire jaw. Two of them could sometimes be visible without opening its mouth fully.

After his away team's experience with Narj's Miraculous Menagerarium's moopsy, Ensign Gary remarked on the threat Humans posed, "we don't have claws or fangs or...", before being interrupted by Lieutenant jg Beckett Mariner, who had noticed evidence that the two Human exhibits they were rescuing had deliberately freed the moopsy. (LD: "I Have No Bones Yet I Must Flee")
