Louis Race (born 19 March 1951; age 73), from Kalamazoo, Michigan, served as a first assistant director on the fifth through seventh seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, working on the even numbered episodes. Previously, he worked as 1st AD on two episodes of Star Trek: Voyager, "Basics, Part I" and "Basics, Part II".
Race was later interviewed for What We Left Behind.
Race has been working as an assistant director since the early 1970s. His resumé includes other popular television series such as The Six Million Dollar Man, Knight Rider, The Wonder Years, NYPD Blue and Roswell.
His motion picture credits include The Prisoner of Zenda, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Russkies, Major League II, and Yesterday Was a Lie (starring Kipleigh Brown and Chase Masterson).
In 2000 he worked as first assistant director on Jonathan Frakes' Star Trek spoof Star Patrol!.
