Marc Garneau was a 20th century Canadian astronaut in NASA's Space Shuttle program. He was a crewmember on STS-41G.
In 2063, the assignment patch for this mission was on display in the 602 Club. This patch bore the astronaut's last name and the flag of Canada. (ENT: "First Flight")

Marc Garneau was the first Canadian in space. He later served as President of the Canadian Space Agency.
The novels Federation and The Fall of Terok Nor (both by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens) discussed a Federation starship named the USS Garneau. The latter novel stated that the Garneau was Akira-class.
