Mary Statler (born 5 November 1936; age 87) is a stuntwoman and stunt actress who was the stunt double for Joan Collins in the Star Trek: The Original Series first season episode "The City on the Edge of Forever". She doubled Collins in a scene where she was hit by a truck. (Hollywood Stunt Performers, 1910s-1970s: A Biographical Dictionary, 2d Ed., p. 266) Statler received no credit for her work. She filmed her scene on Friday 3 February 1967 at the 40 Acres backlot.

Statler performed stunts in films such as Cheyenne Autumn (1964, with Ricardo Montalban and Charles Seel), Village of the Giants (1965), Blake Edwards' The Great Race (1965, with Robert Herron, Clegg Hoyt, Charles Seel, and stunts by Dick Crockett, Dick Dial, Chuck Hicks, Carey Loftin, Hal Needham, Gil Perkins, Ronald R. Rondell, David Sharpe, and Paul Stader), Bonnie & Clyde (1967, with Michael J. Pollard and stunts by Eddie Hice, and George Sawaya), The Wrecking Crew (1969, with Rex Holman, Jon Kowal, Byron Morrow, and stunts by Bill Couch, Jr., Carey Loftin, and Gil Perkins), Paint Your Wagon (1969, with Harve Presnell, Ray Walston, Karl Bruck, Roy Jenson, and stunts by Tony Epper, Diamond Farnsworth, Robert Herron, Chuck Hicks, Frank Orsatti, and David Sharpe), and Once You Kiss a Stranger (1969, with Whit Bissell and stunt coordinated by Fred Carson). She also appeared in television series such as Perry Mason (1966).

Statler was one of the founding and charter members of the Stuntwomens Association of Motion Pictures in 1967 alongside fellow Star Trek stuntwomen Regina Parton and Donna Garrett. She worked as a stunt woman for 11 years until she broke her back. [1]
