Richard Ortega-Miro is an actor who portrayed Rainer in the Star Trek: The Next Generation seventh season episode "Thine Own Self".

Though his performance on Star Trek was his first on-screen appearance, he went on to play roles in numerous other productions. Shortly after his Star Trek debut, Ortega-Miro appeared in an episode of Beverly Hills, 90210 entitled "Acting Out" (alongside Kerrie Keane, Tracy Middendorf, Bill Mondy, and Noley Thornton).

After several featured parts, Ortega-Miro appeared in an episode of JAG (alongside Paul Collins and Gail Strickland). He went on to perform in several other series, including NYPD Blue, The Tony Danza Show, and CSI: Miami (2004, alongside Holmes R. Osborne and David Lee Smith). His most recent professional contribution was as a voice actor for 2005's The Madagascar Penguins in A Christmas Caper (with Rif Hutton).

Miro's most current work was as a voice contributor for the dramatic podcast Virgin Falls. [1]
