Starbase 227 was a Federation starbase administrated by Starfleet.
Admiral Chekote was in command of the facility in 2370, when he allowed the USS Enterprise-D to delay its mission in the Argus sector and to search for the "murderers" of Captain Picard. (TNG: "Gambit, Part I")
This starbase was only mentioned in dialogue.
