Star Trek: The Eugenics Wars is a trilogy of novels by Greg Cox, published by Pocket Books between 2001 and 2006, about the life of Khan Noonien Singh.

The first two novels detail Khan's creation, childhood, rise to power, fall from power, and reasons for leaving Earth on the DY-100 class sleeper ship SS Botany Bay in 1996, which was later found by the crew of the USS Enterprise in 2267.

The third novel takes place between the Star Trek: The Original Series first season episode "Space Seed" and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and details Khan's life while he was marooned on Ceti Alpha V. It also explains how Khan knew Chekov.

Novels[]

  1. The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume One
  2. The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume Two
  3. To Reign in Hell: The Exile of Khan Noonien Singh

Background information[]

  • The origin for this series stemmed from a throwaway line author Greg Cox included in his previous Gary Seven novel, Assignment: Eternity. "I had no intention of going any further with the idea," Cox noted, "until [Pocket editor] John Ordover called me up and asked, 'So, you want to write that book?' Suddenly, I was in the Khan business…". (Voyages of Imagination, p. 133)
